Hot Seats Star in TheatreZone's Season 8

Four timeless, compelling and thoughtful Broadway musicals to be announced on May 3 for 2012-2013 season at G&L Theatre

Hot Seats. Glorious musicals and classics re-imagined. Today, TheatreZone artistic director Mark Danni announced he will unveil the Equity professional theatre company's eighth season selections during his curtain call speech on opening night of Season 7 finale: The Boy Friend, Thursday May 3 at 8 pm. Danni promises he has put together a season that is sure to be as entertaining and enlightening as is it challenging.

Whether staging a new work or re-envisioning a classic, TheatreZone creates theatre that consistently surprises, entertains, challenges and inspires its audiences by inviting them to take part in shared acts of imagination.

With its ambitious theatrical offerings, TheatreZone has continually raised the bar by featuring productions that have both wowed audiences and garnered critical acclaim.

"TheatreZone continues to grow and bring to the stage a special combination of classic and contemporary shows, which contribute immeasurably to the cultural life of our city," Danni says. "Our 2012-2013 schedule is a venturesome mix of timeless, compelling and thoughtful Broadway hits," he continues.

"In the theatre, we ignite the power of the arts to tell stories we all want and need to hear. Next season at TheatreZone, we are going to do just that," promises Danni, founder of the not-for-profit, professional theatre known for its tradition of bringing the "lost treasures of Broadway" to Southwest Florida.

"Tell great stories. It's what we do," he adds.

About TheatreZone

In 2005, non-profit TheatreZone was born on two concepts: an affinity and nostalgia for the stage, and for the intimacy of live audiences. Co-founders artistic director Mark Danni and his wife, actress/choreographer Karen Molnar shared a vision and a passion to bring equity professional actors, and produce talented and innovative productions of classic "lost treasures of Broadway."

Operating under the guidelines of the Actors' Equity Association and small professional theatres contracts, TheatreZone is in residence and performs in the intimate 250-seat G&L Theatre housed on the magnificent campus of The Community School of Naples, one block north of Pine Ridge Road at 13275 Livingston Road.

Over the last seven years, TheatreZone has grown steadily and produced a total of 220 performances, including two world premieres, featured more than 250 artists and played to audiences of over 50,000.

Season 8 tickets go on sale to season ticket holders only on May 3. Ticket sales open to the public on June 1, 2012. Season 8 subscriber series (four shows) costs $182; a mini series (3 shows) costs $144, and individual seats costs $43 - $48 plus a $2 per ticket. Group rates (more than 10) are also available.
