FT. LAUDERDALE---Coming direct from an eight-week sold out run at Off-Broadway's John Houseman Theatre, ELEANOR REISSA, among the Yiddish and American theatre's most accomplished divas, will open a limited one-week run in her one woman show, HIP, HOT AND HEYMISH, Wednesday, March 1, at 2 P.M. through Sunday, March 5, at the Parker Playhouse, 707 N.E. 8th Street.
Joined by her acclaimed Broadway/Klezmer Band, the multi-talented director, playwright, choreographer, actor and singer will be recalled for her local appearances as star of THOSE WERE THE DAYS for which she earned a Tony nomination as director when the show originally opened at
Having most recently directed Nobel Prize winner John Galsworthy's "The Skin Game," Reiss had earlier directed Tony Award winner Frances Sternhagen and Richard Easton in J.M. Barrie's "Echoes of War," Phyllis Newman's "Nothing Like A Dame," at the Marquis Theatre, "Cowgirls" at the Minetta Lane which she also choreographed, "Songs of Paradise" at the New York Shakespeare Festival and was Assistant Director to Howard Davies for "Cat On a Hot Tin Roof," starring Kathleen Turner and Charles Durning.
