The Lake Worth Playhouse Adds An Extra Performance of Hair
To the Show's Final Week
The Lake Worth Playhouse's summer production of Hair has proven to be such a success that the theatre has added an extra performance to the show's schedule. There will be a matinee performance of 'The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical' on Saturday, August 9that 2:00 p.m. The show's final performance will be Saturday, August 9th at 8:00 p.m.
Hair, which celebrates its fortieth anniversary this year, has consistently played to sold out audiences from all over South Florida. Although many Playhouse patrons recalled seeing one of the original versions – at one time there were over 40 productions of Hair running simultaneously around the world – even more were seeing it for the first time, and were struck by the relevancy of the show's content and message four decades after its debut.
Hair, centers on a group of young 'hippies' in New York City's East Village, who band together as a tribe and try to save the world. A strong and enthusiastic cast, combined with a number of songs which have become classics in the American musical lexicon – not only as Broadway/theatrical pieces, but in 'pop' culture as well – are sure to delight.
So Let the Sun Shine In this weekend. Celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Summer of Love and the Age of Aquarius at the Lake Worth Playhouse.
