The Garden Theatre, located at 160 West Plant Street in historic downtown Winter Garden, is pleased to announce its 2011-2012 Theatre Season, running from October, 2011 through May, 2012. In addition to the five full-length theatrical presentations, the upcoming season will be dotted with one-weekend events such as music and dance concerts, as well as movies and special events, which will be announced over the next several months.

Ticket prices range from $10 to $26 and will go on sale to the general public beginning August 1, 2011. The exciting new performance season includes:

Little Shop of Horrors
Written by Howard Ashman
Composed Alan Menken
Produced by TheatreWorks Florida
October 14-November 6, 2011
Seymour loves two things: a beautiful, way-out-of-his-league girl named Audrey and interesting, unusual plants. As a down and out skid row floral assistant, he never dreamed that discovering an exotic plant with a mysterious craving for fresh blood would turn him into an overnight sensation! Little Shop of Horrors is an affectionate rock-n-roll spoof of 1950s sci-fi movies that will have you laughing and dancing in your seats.

The Diviners
Written by Jim Leonard
Produced by Beth Marshall Presents
December 2-18, 2011
In a small farm community during the Depression, water and faith are in short supply. A charismatic but back-sliding preacher drifts into town and meets a gentle but misunderstood boy with the gift of divining or water-witching. The two outcasts find a common bond and help each other divine for truth, faith and hope.

The Bikinis: A New Musical Beach Party
Created and Written by Ray Roderick and James Hindman
Produced by Miracle or 2 Productions
February 10-26, 2012
That girl group from the sixties everyone loves is bringing back the sun, fun and all the great songs they sang down on the boardwalk at the Jersey Shore...all to raise money for the good folks at Sandy Shores RV Resort on Florida's Gold Coast. With a show that promises to get everyone dancing in the aisles, The Bikinis, or "The Jersey Girls," relive their heyday and beyond, beginning the summer of 1964, the night these four inseparable friends got their name, winning the Belmar Beach Talent Contest, wearing just their bikinis!

The Foreigner
Written by Larry Shue
Produced by Jester Theater Company
March 16-April 1, 2012
Hilarity ensues when Englishman Charlie Baker, self-proclaimed "world's dullest man," takes a vacation at a rural fishing lodge with his eccentric army buddy, Froggy LeSuer. Froggy concocts an outrageous scheme to save Charlie from his shy self by introducing him as an exotic "foreigner" who can't speak English. Soon Charlie's guileless persona backfires and the lodge guests share their deepest secrets and most sinister plans.

The Music Man
Book, music and lyrics by MerEdith Wilson
Produced by Garden Theatre
April 20-May 13, 2012
Fast-talking Harold Hill convinces the parents of a small town in Iowa to buy instruments and uniforms for their youngsters, but chaos ensues as Hill's credentials are questioned and he is called upon to prove himself to the citizens of River City.
