The Palm Beach County cultural community has joined forces to present special offers to Florida Stage subscribers in the wake of the theater's bankruptcy.

The Palm Beach County Cultural Council invited all major cultural organizations to help mitigate Florida Stage subscribers' loss, at least a little, with a special offer. The response was overwhelming: 25 groups are participating, including the National New Play Network, which also heard about the program.

"Florida Stage was one of the few performing arts organizations in the nation that regularly CREATED and produced new art," said Rena Blades, Cultural Council President and CEO. "It's a very big loss to the entire local cultural community and indeed to the nation. But, thankfully, overall, our cultural community is healthy, and cultural leaders have really pulled together for the Florida Stage subscribers."

The special deals for Florida Stage subscribers include two-for-one tickets, free tickets and various other discounts.

Here is a list of the participating organizations:

Caldwell Theatre Company
Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens
Centre for the Arts at Mizner Park, Inc.
National New Play Network
Delray Beach Playhouse
Old School Square Cultural Arts Center
Duncan Theatre at Palm Beach State College
Palm Beach Atlantic University - Dance Department
Eissey Campus Theatre at Palm Beach State College
Palm Beach Dramaworks
FAU Department of Theatre and Dance
Palm Beach International Film Festival
Historical Society of Palm Beach County
Palm Beach Opera
Jazz Arts Music Society of Palm Beach
Raymond F. Kravis Center for the Performing Arts
Lake Worth Playhouse
Schoolhouse Children's Museum
Lighthouse ArtCenter
Society of the Four Arts, The
Lynn University
South Florida Science Museum
Maltz Jupiter Theatre
Young Singers of the Palm Beaches
Miami City Ballet

"Nothing can replace what Florida Stage offered the community," Mrs. Blades adds. "But hopefully, the generosity of the participating organizations will help reassure the subscribers that Palm Beach County culture is vibrant and their support is recognized and very much appreciated."

Florida Stage subscribers for the 2011-12 fiscal year will receive a mailing from the Cultural Council by mid July that will have details about all the special offers and how to redeem them.
