Florida Repertory Theatre Hosts a River District Sneak Peek

Florida Repertory Theatre announced that the Fort Myers River District attractions, festivals, hotels, restaurants & galleries have partnered to create a Sneak Peek for area tourist industry representatives, event planners and group leaders.

This informative event, hosted by Florida Rep for an invited audience, will be held on Monday, Sept. 21 from 4 to 7pm in the Arcade Theatre.

Already the guest list includes over a hundred of the area's most high profile event planners, social & civic club organizers, members of the SWFL Concierge Association and representatives from hotels and resorts from as far away as Naples and Marco Island.

Hosted by Florida Rep, this Sneak Peek of the 2009-2010 River District season will showcase what an array of River District festivals & attractions have to offer, as well as a formal announcement of Florida Rep's High-Flying 12th Season by Producing Artistic Director, Robert Cacioppo.

"This is an unprecedented and important event for the River District," said Cacioppo, "never before have so many organizations collaborated for this purpose. What we're doing in the River District should be an example to other cities."

The Sneak Peek will begin at 4pm in the Historic Arcade Theatre Lobby with appetizers and cocktails provided by The Morgan House, a fine dining establishment on First and Dean, and will be followed by an hour-long program in the Arcade Theatre. This presentation will feature a video documentary on the River District and a few keynote speakers.

In addition to Cacioppo, Sneak Peek guests will hear from Suya Davenport, Executive Director of the Lee County Visitor & Convention Bureau, Chris Pendleton with the Edison & Ford Winter Estates, Sharron McAllister of ArtFest Fort Myers, Jamie Kuser of Happenings A&E Magazine and more.

Following those presentations, guests will tour the River District, stopping at the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center, Arts for ACT, Space 39, HOWL Gallery, and will sample tastes from some of the District's finest restaurants: Delicious Things, The French Connection, and The Veranda to name a few. The evening will conclude in the lobby of the River District's newest boutique accommodation, Hotel Indigo, where guests will be treated to desserts and coffee provided by Vino de Notte.

"Group leaders, concierges and tourism industry representatives are influential members of our community," Cacioppo finished, "and it is our responsibility, as restaurateurs, arts organizations and attractions to make sure that they know we're here making a difference in the Fort Myers River District."
