Jason's Deli Partners with Florida Rep

Florida Repertory Theatre announced a brand-new partnership with Jason's Deli in Southwest Florida, and when Florida Rep's Lunchbox Theatre Series opens in the River District on January 10th, every parent and child will be eating a Jason's Deli boxed lunch.

The $12 admission price includes a performance, a workshop and a boxed Jason's lunch with a sandwich, cookie, chips and a pickle.

"We're very happy to be working with Jason's Deli," said Florida Rep's Associate Director, Jason Parrish. "This season is a time for breaking new ground with the Lunchbox Series; we're running a musical for the first time, we have a new home at the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center - and now we're welcoming Jason's Deli to the family."

The Beaumont, Texas based Jason's Deli was founded in 1976, and now boasts nearly 200 locations in 25 states, including one in Fort Myers on Reflections Parkway, and one in Cape Coral on Santa Barbara. Florida Rep's sandwiches will be coming from the Cape Coral location, and made fresh every Saturday morning just in time for the Lunchbox Theatre performance.

"At Jason's Deli we believe you're never too young to play a part in the arts," said Deli spokesperson, Cathy Fernandez.

The Lunchbox Theatre Series is sponsored by Pamela Templeton & Fort Myers Toyota "The Family Store," and features three plays for children of all ages.

The Series opens on Saturday morning, January 10th at 11am with the popular musical extravaganza that makes learning fun, Schoolhouse Rock LIVE! Based on the popular cartoons of the 1970's, Schoolhouse Rock LIVE! features eleven favorite Schoolhouse Rock songs, including "I'm Just a Bill," "Conjunction Junction" and "Interplanet Janet." It is also the first play of its kind ever produced as part of Florida Rep's outreach programming.

Schoolhouse Rock LIVE! opens the Lunchbox Series, and is followed up with two plays by Eric Coble. Cinderella Confidential opens on January 31, and tells the classic fairy tale through the eyes of two TV reporters competing for the inside scoop on the mysterious One-Shoed-Woman. On February 28th ZAP! is back for more. Commissioned in 2007 by Florida Rep and the Lee County Electric Cooperative, ZAP! is a fast-paced & energetic play that tells the story of electricity, and teaches kids how to "Get Smart, Get Safe and Get Saving."

Tickets are $12 and available online at www.floridarep.org or through Florida Rep's box office at 239-332-4488. Please do not call the Art Center or Jason's Deli for ticket information.

Schoolhouse Rock, LIVE! plays on January 10, 17, 24 and April 11.

Cinderella Confidential plays on January 31, February 7, 14 and April 4 .

ZAP! plays on February 28, March 7, 14 and 21.

Florida Repertory Theatre is located on Bay between Jackson and Hendry in the River District, and the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center is located on First Street between Jackson & Lee.
