The Florida Motion Picture & Television Association(FMPTA) electEd Thomas P. Mitchell, Sr. to the position of President at its State Board meeting on Saturday, November 20th.
Mitchell, who served in 2010 as the State Executive Vice President, was recently re-elected to his second year as the President of the Metro Orlando Chapter.
"Florida is on the road back to becoming a prime motion picture, television, audio recording and digital media production Mecca, thanks to Governor Charlie Crist and thelegislators in Tallahassee and the Transferable Tax Credits/Job Bill is the keystone toour future," state Mitchell.
"FMPTA was instrumental in lobbying for the tax credit andwill continue to work diligently to build Florida's entertainment industry."
Joining Mitchell as officers on the State Board are Executive Vice President Chris Hochfrom the Daytona Chapter, Vice President Keith Hutchison from the Jacksonville Chapter, Treasurer Linda Nesmith from the Metro Orlando Chapter and SecretaryAmanda Hoch from the Daytona Chapter.
Nesmith is entering her second year as a state officer, having served as Vice President and Treasurer pro-tem."The primary mission of Florida Motion Picture & Television Association is to promoteour entertainment industries," explained Mitchell.
"Now we have to educate our members and the community about the importance of entertainment to the Floridaeconomy."
Mitchell is an award winning motion picture Executive Producer/Director, Screenwriterand Photographer.
FMPTA serves the motion picture, television, audio recording and digital media industries in the State of Florida. Members include producers, directors, casting agents,cameramen, actors, stuntmen, technicians, make-up artists, set designers, equipment rental companies, recording studios and trade/craft services.
