"With Miami Made Festival 2013, the Arsht Center is building on its history of nourishing innovative new work with a deeper commitment than ever before to artists who have created work on the Arsht Center stages in the past," said John Richard, president and CEO of the Adrienne Arsht Center. "In addition, the support of the Liebermans and Funding Arts Network this season allows us to continue expanding the boundaries of traditional theater. For the first time in our history, Miami Made brings a terrifically fun immersive theater piece to a premium new venue - Riviera South Beach hotel."

MIAMI MADE FESTIVAL is made possible by presenting sponsors Riviera South Beach hotel, together with Alan Lieberman and Nathan Lieberman, with the generous support from the Funding Arts Network.

The 2013 Festival will launch with a private, invitation-only kickoff reception at Riviera South Beach hotel on Monday, February 25, starting at 7:00 p.m., presented by Ocean Drive Magazine.

Zoetic Stage co-founders and 2012 Carbonell nominees Christopher Demos-Brown and Stuart Meltzer team up with a cast of Miami's best actors (including Todd Allen Durkin, Steve Anthony and Arielle Hoffman) to present a staged reading of this dramatic new work-in-progress. FEAR UP HARSH focuses on the process by which America's highest award for valour (The Congressional Medal of Honor) is given and, more broadly, how the entire concept of "awards" and "commendations" tends to skew our understanding of reality. "Fear Up Harsh" is a term used by the military to designate certain types of "enhanced interrogation" techniques that were legally sanctioned in the "global war on terror" post-9/11.
