FST's I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change Extends Again

Due to popular demand, Florida Studio Theatre extends I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change for another week in the Keating Theatre, beginning January 18 and officially closing on January 22, 2011.

The second extension continues the remarkable success of FST's Mainstage Season; in November, FST broke all previous sales records at the theater by exceeding 10,000 subscriptions sold to the Mainstageseries.

A poignant and witty revue by American playwright Joe DiPietro with music by Jimmy Roberts, I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change glorifies the awkward and intimate encounters on the journey to find true love, from the terrible first date to marriage, parenthood and beyond.

I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Changeopened November 10, 2010 to glowing reviews by critics and audiences alike. Critics have called FST's production "engaging and energetic" (Sarasota Herald-Tribune) and "funny, tender... always intelligent" (Cre-ative Loafing). Audiences have called it "fabulous," "wonderful" and "high-energy."Additional performances include: Tuesday, January 18 at 8:00 p.m.; Wednesday, January 19 at 8:00 p.m.; Thursday, January 20 at 8:00 p.m.; Friday, January 21 at 5:00 p.m.; Saturday, January 22 at 2:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.Florida Studio Theatre previously produced I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change with great success in 2001, "After revisiting the script and the music, I was reignited by its relevance to today's audience," Artistic Director Richard Hopkins said. "This play is so universal and, in turn, has a universal appeal that speaks directly to our audience with a fresh perspective on life and love."One of Off-Broadway's longest-running musicals I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change played 5,003 per-formances.

Nominated for Best Musical at the Outer Critics Circle and Drama Desk Awards, I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change is an international success, playing in over 400 cities worldwide and translatedinto 13 languages. The show follows four actors as they portray lovers, husbands, wives and in-laws as they explore the joys and woes of dating, romance and marriage in the 21st century. The ensemble features FST favorites Randy Glass (Oil City Symphony), Stacey Harris (That's Life), Stacey Scotte (Ruthless! The Musical and A Marriage Minuet) and newcomer Gil Brady (National Tour: Annie, TV: All My Children, Law and Order: SVU). In FST's production, scenic designer Bob Phillips has created a sleek and contemporary set to represent the world today, and costume designer Sara Hinkley brings a fresh look to the show.

Choreographer DJ Gray joins the creative team, after associate choreographing the Broadway productions of Xanadu and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. FST's Associate Director Kate Alexander is directing the production, with music direction by John Franceschina. I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change runs through January 22nd, 2011 on the Keating Theatre stage.

ABOUT FLORIDA Studio Theatre
Known as Sarasota's Contemporary Theatre, Florida Studio Theatre was founded in 1973 by Jon Spelman. Starting out as a small touring company, FST traveled to places such as migrant camps and prisons.
