Dr. Michael Blachly, Director of University of Florida Performing Arts (UFPA), was recently elected to the board of the Association of Performing Arts Presenters.
At the University of Florida, Dr. Blachly is responsible for all public performing arts events presented under the auspices of the University of Florida Performing Arts in the Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, University Auditorium, the Baughman Center and, on occasion, the Stephen C. O'Connell Center. In addition, he oversees the departmental operations inclusive of fiscal management, marketing, educational residency activities, community outreach, fund development, commissioning, technical production, and facility coordination and scheduling.
Dr. Blachly has served as a campus-wide resource as Co-Chair of the University's Sesquicentennial Celebration, Chair of President J. Bernard Machen's Inauguration, Chair to the University's Homecoming Advisory Committee, The 50th Commemoration of Integration at the University of Florida, and on committees for the University of Florida Foundation, University Athletic Association and various university colleges and departments.
