The Maltz Jupiter Theatre recognized donors and students of the Theatre's Conservatory of Performing Arts at a fundraising luncheon on Friday, March 27, 2009 at Frenchman's Reserve. The outstanding achievements of six students were highlighted with performances by each and six donors presented awards to the deserving students who also received merit scholarships underwritten by Dr. Bernard and Phyllis Eisenstein.
Rick and Peggy Katz presented the Outstanding Achievement Award in dance, voice and acting to Brett M. Warner, a 9th grade student attending the Alexander W. Dreyfoos School of the Arts.
The Muriel and Ralph Saltzman Most Spirited Award was presented to Brittany Millard, an 8th grade student attending Independence Middle School in Jupiter.
Dr. Bernard and Phyllis Eisenstein presented the Cultural Award to Gabrielle C. Craft, a 7th grade student attending Independence Middle School in Jupiter.
The O'Hagan Family presented an Outstanding Improvement Award to Christie Schelhorn, 13 years of age, from Jupiter.
Dan DiRenzo and Paulette Latrecchia, on behalf of the Maltz Jupiter Theatre Guild, presented the Guild Award for Outstanding Improvement to Emily E. Rynasko, a student only 11 years of age at Hobe Sound Elementary.
Mary Ellen and Dermott Healey presented the Leadership Award to Brianna Scully, an 8th grade student attending The Pine School in Stuart.
"The Annual Conservatory of Performing Arts Awards were conceptualized as a platform to recognize the outstanding efforts of our students and to impart the message that hard work, determination and a positive attitude are as important as natural ability." said Tricia Trimble, Managing Director.

The Conservatory students will perform two productions this spring including Les Miserables (School Edition) on Friday and Saturday, April 24 and 25 and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat on Friday and Saturday, May 8 and 9. Both productions will be performed on the Theatre's professional stage beginning at 7:30pm with tickets for adults at $20 and $15 for students.
Summer at the Conservatory begins open registration April 1, 2009. Summer Session I will be for students ages 13 - 20 for the production of West Side Story with daily rehearsals June 8 - 25 from 9:30am - 5pm. The performances will be onstage Friday and Saturday, June 25 and 26 at 7:30pm. Summer Session II will be for students ages 7 - 12 for the production of Annie Get Your Gun with daily rehearsals July 13 - 31 from 9:30am - 4:30pm. The performances will be onstage at the Maltz Jupiter Theatre Friday and Saturday, July 31 and August 1 at 7:30pm.
As a not-for-profit theatre the Maltz Jupiter Theatre, recognizing the importance of arts education for youth, has made its mission to "entertain, educate and inspire." COPA offers a challenging, innovative and quality theatre experience to students of every ability and provides professional theatre training as well as tools to develop their imagination and self-esteem. COPA students take classes in dance, voice, acting and musical theatre and workshops that feature local and national talent.
