Directed by Danny Weathers, with musical direction by Michael Fauss and choreography by Penny Leto and Christine Marguerite, "Scoundrels" plays through March 26, Tuesday to Saturday at 8 pm. Jeffrey Lane has written the book, with David Yazbek composing the score and witty lyrics. The production is sponsored by Rudy Molinet and Marquis Properties Realty.
"Dirty Rotten Scoundrels" is a large-scale production that features a cast of 15, an on stage band of five, 27 set changes, over 100 costumes and 20 production numbers. The talented cast is led by Michael Mulligan, Eric Cole and Kristen Michelle with J. B. McLendon, Gayla Morgan, Traci Reynolds and David Black, Carolyn Cooper, Marc Crow, Rhett Kalman, Jessica Miano Kruel, Joe McMurray, Maggie Meier, Ruben Navarro and Amy Ray.
"Scoundrels" centers on two unscrupulous con men who ply their trade on the French Riviera. After meeting on a train, they make a bet to see who can be the first to swindle a young heiress out of $50,000. The winner gets the dough and the loser leaves town. What ensues is a scenario of bawdy fun that includes outrageous schemes, masquerades and double crosses.
The beautiful set has been designed by Michael Boyer, Jose Rivera has designed the costumes, with coordination by Leigh Hooten and assistance from Ruth Cahoon and Carmen Rodriguez (also serving as Props Mistress). Kim Hanson has created the evocative lighting. Lisa Alderdice acts as stage manager.
The orchestra includes Michael Fauss and Nancy 3 Hoffman on keyboards, Georges Hemund on woodwinds, Jim Witt on bass and Max Zemanovic on percussion.
