The Raymond F. Kravis Center for the Performing Arts announced a cast change in the upcoming production of FOREVER TANGO. Dancer Anna Trebunskaya, a regular on the popular TV series Dancing With the Stars, is replacing the previously announced Cheryl Burke. The Tony® nominated hit and recurring National PBS special will be presented at 8 p.m. on Sunday, February 12, in the Kravis Center's Alexander W. Dreyfoos, Jr. Concert Hall.
FOREVER TANGO, Luis Bravo's acclaimed dance spectacular, features a cast of world-renowned dancers from Argentina, an on-stage orchestra comprised of members of the Argentinean National Symphony, and a powerful vocalist. Over the past decade the popular show has returned to Broadway twice and has wowed audiences throughout the U.S. and worldwide, repeatedly breaking box office records. The New York Times described it as a "Must See" show, while The Toronto Sun called it, "Torrid, tremendous and terrific," and the San Francisco Chronicle said, "Forever Magical!"
A Russian professional ballroom and Latin dancer, Anna Trebunskaya is a former regular on Dancing with the Stars. During the 2010 season, she was partnered with Evan Lysacek, and in season 2 she was partnered with football star Jerry Rice and together they came in second to pop star Drew Lachey and Cheryl Burke, whom Anna is now replacing.
Trebunskaya and her husband Jonathan Roberts also performed together on results shows in its first three seasons. During season 5, she was partnered with model AlBert Reed; on season 6 her celebrity partner was actor Steve Guttenberg; and during season 9 she danced with UFC fighter Chuck Liddell. In Season 11, Trebunskaya partnered football quarterback Kurt Warner, and for the twelfth season she partnered with boxing legend, Sugar Ray Leonard. She now lives in Los Angeles, California and dances in the International Latin style.
