The Cultural Council of Palm Beach County launches this week a new art&culture product designed with the tourist in mind. The Annual Cultural Guide 2015 will be sent to cultural tourists in New York and Boston in the hopes it will not only stimulate a visit, but a visit to any one of more than 200 world-class arts organizations in the county.

This new edition of art&culture will be in the marketplace for a full year and is filled with "evergreen" copy that should be of interest to north-easterners.

"While many New Yorkers and Bostonians are well aware of the charm and cachet of Palm Beach County, what they may not know is the level of sophistication, the variety and the uniqueness of what is on offer in the arts," said Marilyn Bauer, director of marketing and government affairs for the Council. "We have the best of the best from ballet to Broadway. We are making art here."

The 116-page magazine features a photo essay by Harry Benson from his book (with Hilary Geary Ross) "Palm Beach People." Lord Norman Foster weighs in on architectural design and his plans for the "new" Norton Museum of Art. A group of second-graders descend on Henry Flagler's Belle Epoque mansion with hilarious consequences and Beth Rudin DeWoody gives advice to new collectors.

"It is the next step in the evolution of our award-winning magazine," said Publisher, Robert Kirschner. "The magazine has entirely new sections to help visitors navigate the county and new editorial features sure to be of interest to travelers from the country's other cultural capitals."

The Cultural Council has just launched a new advertising campaign in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal and The Boston Globe and in each ad readers are asked to visit the website to receive a free copy of the magazine. Co op advertising partners - the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts, Florida Atlantic University and the West Palm Beach Arts & Entertainment District - appear in the ads, in a business reply card in the magazine and on a special landing page found at pbculture.info.

"We want to let our friends up north know they can enjoy more dance, theatre, art and music here than anywhere else in Florida," Bauer said.
