Florida Motion Picture & Television Association (FMPTA), and the CRA Executive Committee, announces that the CALL FOR ENTRY for the 22nd Annual Crystal Reel Awards deadlines have been extended through August 30th for ALL categories.

The Crystal Reel Awards are open to any motion picture, television, audio recording or digital media production, with a minimum of 60% of it created in the State of Florida during the period of January 1, 2010 through August 30th, 2011. This modification was to allow the productions shot during the summer months to enter this year. Entries must not have been entered in a prior year. The deadline to submit scripts/screenplays, either produced or unproduced, has been extended to August 30th, 2011. All other entry categories must be received by 5pm on August 30th, 2011.
Entry forms are available on the State FMPTA web site (www.fmpta.org) and on the Metro Orlando FMPTA web site (www.fmpta-mo.com)

"While the submission process has been stream-lined this year, to make entry simpler and more cost effective," explained Executive Producer, Thomas P. Mitchell, Sr. "We expect the extended 'completion date', combined with the usage of online submissions will increase our entries this year, from both the emerging and established professionals."

Work returned to Florida in 2010, as is noticed by the out of state interest level. "We've received calls from production companies from as far away as California for projects filmed in Florida," stated the jubilant CRA Producer Linda K. Nesmith.

The culmination of the judging by industry Oscar, Emmy and/or Grammy nominated/winning judges is the 22nd Annual Crystal Reel Awards Gala, November 4-5, 2011 at the lovely Hilton Orlando/Altamonte Springs Hotel. The awards will be presented during the "Star Spangled Celebration," being billed as, "Come out and celebrate with the Stars," on November 5th.
