Orlando Transit Authority: Chicago Tribute **
Chicago is a rock-infused, horn-driven musical powerhouse that has inspired generations of professional musicians over the last 40 years. Some of the very best of those musicians found their way to central Florida and came together to form Orlando Transit Authority, a high-energy Chicago tribute show made up of A-list players. OTA emulates every stylistic nuance of the Chicago sound, both vocally and instrumentally, and offers a "tribute within a tribute" to the group that was indirectly responsible for Chicago's success: Blood, Sweat and Tears. Back in 1965, based on the success of California Dreamin', The Mamas & The Papas all took up residence in the Canyon, starting a movement of artists, both aspiring and successful, to be a part of this community including the Byrds, Buffalo Springfield, the Doors, Crosby, Stills, and Nash, Neil Young, James Taylor, Joni Mitchell, Carole King, Jackson Browne, Linda Ronstadt, America, and the Eagles

February 11 at 7 pm (Sunday)
You can capsulize most pop music acts by reciting how many hits they've had and how many millions of albums they've sold. But these conventional measurements fall short when you're assessing the impact of The Beach Boys, a band that has birthed a torrent of hit singles and sold albums by the tens of millions. The Beach Boys still play around 150 shows a year, ranging from sundrenched summer festivals to gala New Year's celebrations and special events across the globe. Most recently, the band celebrated the 50th anniversary of the hit "Good Vibrations," which is widely considered one of the greatest masterpieces in the history of rock and roll. The band commemorated this prolific time in the life of The Beach Boys with a 50 Years of Good Vibrations tour. Additionally, front man Mike Love released his highly anticipated memoir titled GOOD VIBRATIONS: My Life as a Beach Boy. Love's role as the band's front man sometimes overshadows his stature as one of rock's foremost songwriters. "Surfin'," The Beach Boys' first hit came from his pen. With his cousin, Brian Wilson, Love wrote the classics "Fun, Fun, Fun," "I Get Around," "Help Me Rhonda," "California Girls" and the Grammy nominated "Good Vibrations." Years later, he showed he still had the lyrical chops by co-writing the irresistible and chart-topping "Kokomo."

For more than a half-century, the distinctive harmonies and stellar musicianship of POCO helped define the sound of country-rock. Still led by the band co-founder and multi-instrumentalist who wrote and sang their biggest hits, they are a dedicated unit of four formidable songwriters, vocalists, arrangers and players. And rather than rest on any of these considerable laurels, they instead hit stages coast-to-coast armed with the kind of classic songs and instrumental chops that puts performers half their age to shame.
