Benefit Featuring Legendary Pianist Copeland Davis
Caldwell Theatre Company Board of Trustees will host a benefit concert starring legendary pianist Copeland Davis on Saturday, May 30, 2009 at Caldwell Theatre Company. "One of the best symphonic jazz musicians in the business," (The Boston Globe), Copeland will entertain on Caldwell's Steinway piano following cocktails, amuse-bouches and a lavish dinner at Caldwell's Count de Hoernle Theatre.
With roots in gospel and classical training, which includes a degree from Florida Atlantic University, innovator Copeland Davis (who was influenced by Beethoven) received a standing ovation after his debut on "The Tonight Show" and has enchanted audiences around the world. He was inducted into The International Who's Who in Music, and after a performance as Artist-in-Residence with the Florida Symphonic Pops Orchestra, the Maestro said Copeland is "one of America's foremost symphonic jazz piano innovators," whose jazz improvisation "is in a class by itself."
Join Caldwell for a class act when the gifted and soulful Copeland Davis performs at Caldwell. Funds raised by Caldwell Theatre Company benefit the theater's general operating account, which helps to pay operating expenses. Copeland Davis will gift his concert in support of Caldwell, and Caldwell receives 100 percent of all donations made.
