A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM was first produced on Broadway by the legendary
Hal Prince and directed by the equally legendary George Abbott, with choreography by the master, Jerome Robbins (West Side Story, Fiddler On The Roof.) It won the Tony for Best Musical and for its star,
Zero Mostel. Revivals on Broadway starred Phil Silvers and
Nathan Lane, both of whom were also Tony'd for starring in
Forum. After
Nathan Lane departed the
Forum revival a few years back, it gender bent and starred
Whoopi Goldberg. Whoopi was then followed briefly by David Allan Grier.
