CATWALK CONFIDENTIAL STARRING Robyn Peterson
DIRECT FROM HER LONDON WEST END SUCCESS, TO OPEN LIMITED RUN MARCH 17 TO 20 AT CARNIVAL STUDIO THEATER IN ADRIENNE ARSHT CENTER FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS
MIAMI---In a stunning portrayal of a high fashion model who gets caught up in the fashionista world of the 1970's, Robyn Peterson, a Miami girl who made it big, will open in her one woman show, "CATWALK CONFIDENTIAL" for a limited six (6) performance run, Thursday, March 17 at 8 P.M. through Sunday, March 20, at the Carnival Studio Theater in the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts.
Coming direct from London's West End where she scored a major success following its UK premiere at the Edinburgh Festival, "Catwalk Confidential" stars Peterson in the work she wrote and developed with her director Tony Abatemarco.
Premiering in Los Angeles at the Mark Taper Forum New Works Festival where the show played to packed houses peppered with celebrities, during a successful run at the Edinburgh Festival it caught the eye of Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson who under the banner of Eon Productions and Michael Rose Ltd brought the show to London's 350 seat ARTS Theatre. Broccoli and Wilson had earlier produced "Chitty Chitty Bang" followed by the Broadway production of "A Steady Rain," starring Daniel Craig and Hugh Jackman.
Before there was Kate, Naomi and Claudia, there was Robyn Peterson. "Catwalk Confidential" tells her story.
Part fairy tale, part memoir, part romance, "Catwalk Confidential" is Peterson's personal take on the story of a 16-year old Miami girl who gets caught up in the world of high fashion amidst the boulevards of Paris where she became one of the top models of the period. Working with such photographers as Alice Springs, Helmut Newton and Guy Bourdin and designer giants Karl Lagerfeld, Yves St. Laurent and Valentino, Robyn's face was a frequent visitor to the covers of Vogue, Elle and Marie Claire. Amidst the whirlwind life of glamour, sex and drugs, Peterson discovers there is one thing to fear above all else ...age. There is always a younger girl waiting to step into your stilettos.
Directed by Tony Abatemarco, "Catwalk Confidential" is designed by Tim Crowdy with lighting by Alistair Grant and sound by Clement Rawling.
Playing March 17 thru the 20th, performances are Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday at 8 P.M.; matinees Saturday and Sunday at 2 P.M. Tickets priced at $40 are available via www.arshtcenter.org or (305) 949-6722.
