FOUR ACCLAIMED MUSICAL HITS MARK RICHLY VARIED STANFORD BROADWAY ACROSS AMERICA-MIAMI'S 2007-2008 SUBSCRIPTION SERIES AT CARNIVAL CENTER'S ZIFF BALLET OPERA HOUSE

Stephen Sondheim'S PROVOCATIVELY OFF-BEAT "SWEENEY TODD", LERNER AND LOEWE'S ALWAYS-MAGICAL "My Fair Lady", AND THE WILDLY HILARIOUS AND SLYLY FUNNY TONY ® AWARD WINNERS, "MONTY PYTHON'S SPAMALOT"; AND "AVENUE Q" In an exciting line-up of musicals that represent the best of Broadway's award-winning crowd-pleasers from its vibrant present and its glorious past, Stanford Broadway Across America-Miami, presented by Moët & Chandon, brings to Carnival Center in downtown Miami one of the most powerful seasons in its long South Florida history.

The 07-08 subscription series at the Sanford and Dolores Ziff Ballet Opera House is presented by Florida Theatrical Association In partnership with Carnival Center for the Performing Arts. Direct from London, My Fair Lady opens on December 18, 2007 as a holiday gift to all who have loved the sheer beauty and glorious score of Lerner and Loewe's glittering classic.

This new production precedes the arrival of another extraordinary Broadway masterpiece, the new version of Stephen Sondheim's SWEENEY TODD, The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, which kicks off the New Year on January 1, 2008.

The second half of the series will be highlighted by the riotously funny 2005 Tony ® Award winner, Monty Python's SPAMALOT, March 4; followed on May 13 by the ultra-cool, equally funny, sometimes risqué musical about life after college, the 2004 Tony ® Award-winning Best Musical, AVENUE Q.

The 07-08 Broadway Across America - Miami four-show subscription season shapes up as follows: My Fair Lady / December 18 - 23, 2007 My Fair Lady, Lerner & Loewe's legendary musical, premieres in the United States direct from its 50th Anniversary London production and U.K. national tour. Starring are acclaimed British theatre actors Christopher Cazenove and Lisa O'Hare who earned rave reviews for their dynamic performances as Professor Henry Higgins and Eliza Doolittle. "The cast is superb!" "A more perfect Higgins I have yet to see!" Based on the Cameron Mackintosh/National Theatre of Great Britain's award-winning London sensation, and hailed as "the revival against which all others will be measured" this glorious, new production features one of Broadway's most beloved scores including "The Rain in Spain," "I Could Have Danced All Night' and "Get Me to the Church on Time" and brings together the original U.K. artistic team with direction by four-time Tony ® winner Trevor Nunn ( Les Miserables), choreography and musical staging by two-time Tony ® winner Matthew Bourne (Mary Poppins)and production design by Anthony Ward (Gypsy).

SWEENEY TODD / January 1 - 6, 2008 Innovative, intimate and ingenious, this revolutionary new production of SWEENEY TODD "is an event theatergoers will be talking about for years." ( The Wall Street Journal ). The legendary demon barber, hell-bent on revenge, takes up with his enterprising neighbor in a delicious plot to slice their way through London's upper crust. Justice will be served—along with lush melody, audacious humor and bloody good thrills. Directed by Tony ® Award winner John Doyle, with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and book by Hugh Wheeler, this dazzling reinvention of a magnificent musical thriller is set to stun theatergoers as never before.

Monty Python's SPAMALOT / March 4 - 9, 2008 Winner of the 2005 Tony ® Award for Best Musical, Monty Python's Spamalot is the outrageous new musical comedy lovingly ripped off from the film classic "Monty Python and The Holy Grail." Directed by Tony Award-winner Mike Nichols, with a book by Eric Idle and music and lyrics by the Grammy Award-winning team of Mr. Idle and John Du Prez, Spamalot tells the tale of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table as they embark on their quest for the Holy Grail. Flying cows, killer rabbits, taunting Frenchmen and show-stopping musical numbers are just a few of the reasons audiences everywhere are eating up Spamalot.

AVENUE Q / May 13 – 18, 2008 AVENUE Q is Broadway's smash-hit 2004 Tony Award® winner for BEST MUSICAL, BEST SCORE and BEST BOOK. A hilarious show full of heart and hummable tunes, AVENUE Q is about trying to make it in NYC with big dreams and a tiny bank account. Called "one of the funniest shows you're ever likely to see" by Entertainment Weekly, AVENUE Q features a cast of people and puppets who tell the story in a smart, risque and downright entertaining way. The New Yorker calls it "SUBVERSIVE and UPROARIOUS!" Recommended for ages 13 and up.
