Caldwell Theatre Company Winner of
FOUR New Times BEST OF 2008 AWARDS
New Times Broward/Palm Beach honored Caldwell Theatre Company with four Best of 2008 Awards for Best Play, Doubt, A Parable; Best Set Design - Tim Bennett for The Clean House; Best Supporting Actor - Terry Hardcastle in Doubt and Best Supporting Actress, Pat Bowie in Doubt.
New Times said, "… no show was quite so staggering as Doubt," which returns for a much-anticipated engagement this summer season at Caldwell (August 1 - August 17.) Doubt is back by popular demand with its original cast - including award-winners Terry Hardcastle and Pat Bowie - who, along with Pat Nesbit and Amy Montminy inaugurated Caldwell's new Count de Hoernle Theatre this past December with its South Florida Premiere.
Pat Bowie, recipient of the 2007 United States Artist Fellowship Grant, made her Broadway debut in The Song of Jacob Zulu and has extensive British credits. Terry Hardcastle, nominated for seven and winner of three Carbonell Awards, will make his film debut later this year as Len in "Lost Everything." In addition to appearing in Doubt this summer, Terry is also featured in Caldwell's upcoming political comedy, Lying in State, from September 1 - September 21.
New Times said of Tim Bennett's The Clean House set: "… no play in the last year or two has enjoyed a set that so perfectly captured its theme." Sarah Ruhl's comedy made its Florida Premiere at Caldwell. Bennett, who has designed more than 70 shows at Caldwell, won two Carbonell Awards for Best Scenic Design for Lobby Hero and Enchanted April.
