This evening, June 16th, center stage at The Burt Reynolds Institute will host Voices and Visions, an evening of staged readings of original one acts performed by students from Burt Reynolds' Master Class.

Unlike a Broadway show, staged readings do not rely on elaborate sets and costumes to present a play. Rather, they draw on dialogue, pace and flow to draw the audience into the story. The atmosphere is relaxed, allowing the audience to see "behind the scenes" into how a work is developed for production.

Under the capable direction of writer/producer/director Frank Eberling, six shorts covering a variety of subject matters – some serious, some funny, all entertaining – will be presented. Among them will be B-7, Blinded and Reflections While Dying in a Foxhole, all written by Eberling. Also on the program are The Therapist by Steve Daron, Fishing with Weezee by Steve Mairano and Critical Care by award-winning playwright Bara Swain.

Eberling has been filmmaker in Florida for fifty years. During his career he has accumulated 3,000 television and film credits and won numerous awards including an Emmy, a Cine Golden Eagle and six Telly honors. He has been an educator at the college level for twenty years and has taught in-depth filmmaking seminars at the Burt Reynolds Institute for Film and Theatre for eight years.

Visions and Voices has sold out quickly in past performances. Tickets ($10) are available at 561 385-1584. Seating is limited.
