On Wednesday, May 14, 2014, Broward Cultural Division will be hosting two (2) regional convenings: - one from 2 - 5 p.m. on Arts Education Policy, Equity and Action; the other, from 5:30 p.m. - 8 p.m. on Cultivating South Florida's Dance Community at ArtServe, 1350 E. Sunrise Blvd.
"Convening" has been a critical tool for the Rockefeller Foundation's century of successful philanthropy. Each convening is free of charge, and targets South Florida regional arts and cultural stakeholders, from individual artists to school and community-based educators, advocates and supporters.

Targeting individuals, businesses and organizations involved in the dance industry, from educators to dancers to choreographers, companies, schools and suppliers. What is the state of dance in South Florida? What can be done to ensure dance as a viable, thriving arts discipline within the region?
Program attendees will experience a real treat. Talented dance students from Bak Middle School of the Arts in West Palm Beach will perform short modern dances learned from collaborating with Laura Bennett of the American Dance Legacy Initiative from Brown University.
