The Van Wezel has the pleasure of hosting one of the most popular and successful male vocal groups of all time, Boyz II Men. You will surely be serenaded by these amazing and talented gentlemen hailing from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Please join the Van Wezel in welcoming the originators of new jack style music on Fri. Oct. 30 at 8PM as they perform tracks from their new CD A Journey Through Hitsville USA as well as some of their favorite classics.
The group began as a quintet in 1988 with original members Nathan Morris, Shawn Stockman, Wanya Morris, Marc Nelson and Michael McCary. Today the group is composed of Nathan Morris, Shawn Stockman and Wanya Morris. The group has had much success including five R & B hits between 1992-1997 and has sold over 60 million records worldwide. Boyz II Men was named Billboards most successful group and overall artist of the 90's. Some of their most popular songs include, "End of the Road", "I'll Make Love to You" and "One Sweet Day" which propelled their careers to international stardom. After taking a break to deal with personal and management issues, in the middle of 2007 Boyz II Men Recorded their eighth record A Journey Through Hitsville USA, co-produced by American Idol Judge Randy Jackson. The record features songs from the Motown Records catalog. The album includes songs by The Temptations ("Just my Imagination Running Away with Me), Marvin Gaye's ("Ain't Nothing Like the Real Thing" and "Mercy Mercy Me") and Smokey Robinson & The Miracles ("The Tracks of My Tears"). With their clean-cut image, smooth harmonies, and synchronized dance and performance movements, this will be a performance you will not want to miss.
