PETER PAN FLIES ONTO SEASIDE MUSIC THEATER STAGE

Summer began with pirates running amuck in the Caribbean. They've made their way west and have now been spotted on the shores of Daytona Beach, so gather the family and FLY to Seaside Music Theater for the blockbuster pirate show of all time – Peter Pan,August 2-19!

Last summer, Seaside Music Theater made it rain on stage. This year, they are taking their audiences on a fun-filled, awe-inspiring trip to Neverland! Watch Peter Pan, played by Maria Kerrigan, and Captain Hook, played by SMT favorite Mark Chambers, duel it out with the swordfight to end all swordfights. Be amazed at the magic wielded by the tiny but powerful fairy, Tinkerbell. Finally, find yourself searching for your happy thoughts as Tinkerbell, Peter, Wendy (Gracie Winchester), John (Nick Rishel), and Michael (Dominic Circelli) fly – yes fly – all around the theater!

Adam Rowe, set designer for SMT's production of Peter Pan,says that his inspiration for the magical world of Neverland came from the story's author, James M. Barrie.

"The author of Peter Pan was creating an imaginary world for the boys. This design tries to respect the author's descriptions from the book, but respect that this world is an imaginary world. These children are going somewhere in their imagination…not an actual place. Or is it?"

Rowe stresses that the key element that he and director Earl Weaver have agreed upon is surprise! They want to astonish the audience with unexpected effects and give them an experience that differs from every other Peter Pan production, while staying true to the history and success of the musical.
