Four very talented young actors take us back in time as they sing and dance to music that was performed for the troops during WWII USO tours. Sarah Carey is being introduced to the music of that era as she makes her debut with the Bay Street Players. Her favorite songs in G. I. Holiday Jukebox are from the Moonglow Medley and include "It's Only a Paper Moon", "Moon Light in Vermont" and "Moon Light Becomes You".
A favorite song for Gerard DePrinzio, also a new comer to Bay Street's main stage, is "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" which was first performed in the movie "Meet Me in St. Louis." Gerard is joined by
Joel Warren as they perform, "Oh! How I Hate To Get Up in The Morning" and "This Is The Army
Mr. Jones."
Amanda Warren enjoys singing with her husband, Joel, when the group forms as a quartet. "Choo Choo Ch'Boogie" and "Winter Wonderland" are only a couple of the songs the four perform together. Joel, a longtime resident of central Florida, was attending college at the California Institute for the Arts in Los Angeles when he met fellow student Amanda. They have been performing together ever since and now their biggest fan is their nine month old son, Landon. But he prefers it when his parents perform the livelier songs and not the ballads.
G.I. Holiday Jukebox opens on November 19 and runs through December 12. Tickets are $17 for Weds & Thurs and $20 for Fri - Sun. Advance reservations for this show are at an all-time high for this musical; so don't wait, call 352-357-7777 today. Or visit us online at www.baystreetplayers.org.
