Asolo Rep unveils Asolo Rep Extras, a series of one or two performance shows featuring talented acts from across the United States. The line-up includes the return of A Tale of Two Cities star James Barbour, Broadway's Barbra Russell and Ron Sharpe, Charles Ross in One Man Star Wars, Second City's Fair and Unbalanced, and John Epperson as Lypsinka in The Passion of the Crawford. The shows enhance Asolo Rep's 2010-11 season of full run productions already announced.

"Asolo Rep is not simply a theatre; we are a theatre district with a truly staggering range of shows
which promises something for everyone," said Producing Artistic Director Michael Donald Edwards. "The 2010-2011 season is already filled with ambitious productions that will be developed and produced by Asolo Rep; and provide a rich, varied theatrical experience to audiences. Asolo Rep Extras has a different vibe. We're bringing in some very entertaining artists that appeal to an even wider audience, perhaps people who've never experienced theatre before."

Tickets for Asolo Rep Extras go on sale to subscribers and donors on Oct. 4, and to the general
public on Oct. 18. On Oct. 17 at 4 p.m. they will be available for purchase for pre-sale online at www.asolorep.org. Tickets range from $22 to $60.

To order, call 941-351-8000 or visit www.asolorep.org.

Performance Schedule

DEC. 21-22, 2010, 8 p.m.
James Barbour HOLIDAY CONCERT 2010
James Barbour brings his Holiday Concert straight from New York for only two performances! Light up your holidays with timeless selections like the "12 Days of Christmas, O Holy Night, Believe, and It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year." Barbour received Drama Desk, Drama League and Outer Critics Circle nominations for Best Actor in a Musical for his critically acclaimed Broadway run in A
Tale of Two Cities, playing Sydney Carton. (In The Mertz Theatre) $45--$60

DEC. 28-29, 2010, 5 & 8 p.m.
ONE MAN STAR WARS FEATURING Charles Ross
Writer/performer Charles Ross spent much of his childhood (and adulthood) in a galaxy far, far
away. This high-energy, 75-minute piece takes you on a theatrical adventure at warp speed through the Star Wars trilogy, all performed by one man. Using body, voice and movement, Charles Ross plays all the characters, recreates the effects and music, flies the ships and fights both sides of the battles. It's a thoroughly entertaining cosmic experience! (Historic Asolo Theater) $28-$40

VALENTINES DAY, FEB. 14, 2011, 8 p.m.
BROADWAY LOVE SONGS A CONCERT WITH Barbra Russell AND Ron Sharpe
Real life sweethearts and superb Broadway duo Barbra Russell and Ron Sharpe perform the best of Broadway's music. From Jeanette MacDonald and Nelson Eddy to the classical Broadway hits from West Side Story, Carousel, Les Miserables, Phantom and A Tale of Two Cities; plus, modern
Broadway shows like The Spelling Bee and Avenue Q. Barbra and Ron perform this Valentines Day
concert with special guests-their very talented children. (In The Mertz Theatre) $40--$60

APRIL 17-18, 2011, 4 and 8 p.m.
SECOND CITY PRESENTS FAIR AND UNBALANCED
The Second City has been rocking audiences with laughter for years; now they take on the Asolo
Rep mainstage with 90 minutes of non stop hilarity. Fair & Unbalanced takes unbridled comic
pleasure in the foibles of our politicians, celebrities and even our significant others. No institution
escapes the satiric eye of The Second City - from the blowhards of the Beltway to the Hollywood
elite. Ripped from the stages of Second City's legendary theatres in Chicago and Toronto, Fair &
Unbalanced is a riotous ride through present day America. (In The Mertz Theatre) $22--$40

MAY 9, 2011, 6:30 and 9:30 p.m.
John Epperson AS LYPSINKA AS Joan Crawford IN THE PASSION OF THE CRAWFORD

Utilizing almost entirely recorded sound bytes made with the participation of Joan Crawford,
The Passion of the Crawford is not merely a Joan Crawford impersonation, but a fantasia on
the persona of Miss Crawford. Lypsinka (the female brainchild of actor/writer John
Epperson) and a guest actor reproduce interviews and speeches given by Crawford, in a
humorous performance about the refraction of celebrity and the addiction to fame. The
controversial, beloved and enormously contradictory 20th century star Joan Crawford, in all
her fascination and complexities, is the centerpiece of this unique show, created by John
Epperson and directed by Kevin Malony. (In The Mertz Theatre) $30--$55
