“Bag Ladies and Baubles Luncheon” at FST
Wednesday, April 1st, 2009

Florida Studio Theatre’s annual “Old Bags Luncheon” will be held Wednesday, April 1st 2009 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Goldstein Cabaret. All proceeds from this event will benefit the diverse programming offered throughout the year at Florida Studio Theatre.

This fun-filled afternoon begins with a silent and live auction of gently used, new and vintage handbags, ranging in style and graciously donated to Florida Studio Theatre. A delightful lunch follows, catered by Sundance Catering with a laugh-out-loud presentation of FSTs IMPROV troupe finishing out the afternoon.

The “Bag Ladies and Baubles Luncheon” is co-chaired by Marie Kropp, Susan Morin and Nanci Rand. "Girlfriend, here is an opportunity to laugh, have fun, and buy pocketbooks. What could be better? In addition to a silent and live auction along with some fabulous food, Florida Studio Theatre Improv will entertain you and you will have a lighthearted fabulous afternoon," stated co-chair Susan Morin.

Reservations are required and can be made by contacting Phyllis Silverman, Assistant to the Managing Director, at 941.366.9017 ext. 314. The luncheon is $75.00 per guest. Their website is www.floridastudiotheatre.org.

Known as Sarasota’s Contemporary Theatre, Florida Studio Theatre was founded in 1973 by Jon Spelman.  Starting out as a small touring company, FST traveled to places such as migrant camps and prisons.  The company eventually settled down into a permanent home, acquiring the former Woman’s Club building – now renamed the Keating Theatre.  In the years that followed, Florida Studio Theatre established itself as a major force in American Theatre, presenting contemporary theatre in its three theatre venues: the Keating Theatre, the Goldstein Cabaret and its newest space, the Gompertz Theatre.
