THE ATLANTIC THEATER SET TO REOPEN
Northern Palm Beach County's home for the most eclectic mix of entertainment is reopening with a full slate of shows in March. After being closed for seven months for renovations, The Atlantic Theater returns with two one act plays, stand up comedy and improvisational comedy for the month of March.
"Gated Community" Improv Comedy March 17
A special St. Patrick's Day comedy event entitled "Luck o' the Irish"! Check out the five person comedy troupe that the Stuart News calls "the funniest guys you've never heard of", and The Beacon says, "They make you laugh, but more importantly they make you think". This show offers a St Patrick's Day theme, with brand new sketch comedy, improvisations and videos Audiences continue to discover the humor and energy found in a live Improv show, as the mix of sketch comedy, improvisation, musical parody and video leaves patrons excited about the endless possibilities of live theater. GC Comedy takes comedy seriously….very seriously. The show takes place on Saturday March 17 at 8pm. Tickets are $15. Prior to the Gated Community show, "Under Construction", a teen improv comedy troupe will perform at 6pm, offering a great introduction to theater and comedy for all ages. Tickets for Under Construction are $7.00.
Atlantic Comedy Night March 24
Jupiter's only consistent evening of stand up comedy is back with comedians Al Ernst and Nick Cantone. Al Ernst has appeared on MTV and the Speed Network and has been called the "Jimmy Buffet of Comedy" and Nick Cantone has worked with the best that comedy has to offer, including: Dane Cook, Lewis Black and Dave Attell. The show takes place on Saturday March 24th at 8pm and tickets are $20.00.
"Daughters" and "The Washtub Farce" March 31
Two one act plays presented by the Atlantic Arts Drama Company, Daughters, written by Maria Levy, is a series of monologues that deal with the loneliness and trials of being a teenager. It is rated PG-13 for teenage content and themes. The Washtub Farce, by Tony Devaney Morinelli, is a one act medieval play of a middle class wife who conspires, along with the Devil to get her husband to complete her household chores, and how the husband responds to her acts. The Washtub Farce is rated G for family entertainment. The shows take place on Saturday March 31 at 7pm. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students.
