Building on the huge success of last summer's record-breaking lineup, the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County announced its blockbuster SUMMER SEASON 2010, featuring three Miami premieres plus the return of audience favorites for a summer of fun that offers something for everyone.  In a world premiere, CAMP KAPPAWANNA brings the adventures of camp straight to the stage for families to enjoy together, with a score by Grammy®-nominated singer/songwriter Lisa Loeb and book by local rising star Marco Ramirez.  From Australia, TAP DOGS is a high energy, fresh take on tap dance, featuring nine male dancers taking over the stage with raw energy and dynamic talent.  Originally created in Israel, the Miami premiere of THE ALUMINUM SHOW is the summer's not-to-be-missed grand finale.  Aluminum in all forms is transformed and brought to life in surprising, delightful, and humorous ways in this wildly inventive work of dance, theater, and magic.

The Adrienne Arsht Center's SUMMER SEASON 2010 also includes the return engagement of the SUMMER SHORTS series, co-presented with City Theatre, including Signature Shorts - hilarious or dramatic 5-20 minute plays, and undershorts - provocative late-night versions of these mini theatrical installments.  Celebrating its 25th anniversary season, the INTERNATIONAL HISPANIC THEATRE FESTIVAL also returns, presenting an array of works in tribute to Mexico.

A special one day only "2 for the price of 1 sale" for select performances of all summer season shows takes place on Saturday, May 8 for 2 hours only 11:30am-1:30pm, in person, by phone, or online. Save on all ticket fees only when you purchase in person at the box office.  Tickets may also be purchased by calling the Adrienne Arsht Center at (305) 949-6722 or online at www.arshtcenter.org.

"This year's SUMMER SEASON celebrates our new tradition of sizzling summer programming, bringing three sensational theatrical productions to the Adrienne Arsht Center for their Miami premiere," said M. John Richard, President and CEO of The Adrienne Arsht Center.  "Every stage in The Adrienne Arsht Center will come alive this summer with humor and drama, adventure and passion for all of South Florida to enjoy!"
