Andrea Marcovicci
Back By Popular Demand

Star of stage, screen and cabaret Andrea Marcovicci has been dubbed "the Callas of Cabaret" by The Philadelphia Inquirer. Back at The Colony following smash runs in 2004 and 2005, she will be performing her highly acclaimed show, Marcovicci Sings the Movies II, featuring unforgettable hits by Fred Astaire, Bing Crosby, Judy Garland and Betty Hutton.

Stephen Holden, the cabaret reviewer for The New York Times, described this show as being "a beautifully written, erudite, expertly performed seminar on classic Hollywood movie songs and the legends who sang them." A frequent headliner at the Algonquin Hotel's famed Oak Room, Marcovicci also has appeared in numerous films (The Front with Woody Allen, The Hand with Michael Caine, Jack the Bear with Danny DeVito), TV shows (Taxi, Hill Street Blues, Cybill and Magnum, P.I.) and stage shows (Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Finian's Rainbow and On a Clear Day You Can See Forever).

Reviews of Andrea Marcovicci:
+ People Magazine: Andrea Marcovicci is a "torch singer, spellbinder, heartbreaker."
+ New York Magazine: Marcovicci has "the most throbbingly irresistible voice in cabaret."
+ Stephen Holden in The New York Times: "Andrea Marcovicci has an incandescent enthusiasm and a masterly balance between poignancy and wit."
+ The New Orleans Times-Picayune: "Over 23 years and counting in the Oak Room of Manhattan's Algonquin Hotel, Andrea Marcovicci has mastered the delicate art of cabaret. Marcovicci Sings Movies II (is) an evening of movies and music and memories and the occasional mystery, with equal parts polish and panache."
