Miles Hoffman, ensemble leader, is known not only for his wonderful musicianship but also for his ability to make music accessible to a variety of people. This performance will enlighten audiences of all ages. The Visiting Artists Series performance, on Sunday, October 4 at 3:00 p.m. is a more formal program that showcases the ensemble's varied repertoire. Works by Schubert, Beethoven, and Rachmaninoff are blended with more contemporary works by Ernest Bloch and Madeleine Dring. Miles Hoffman says of this program and the Bach Festival Society, "Rachmaninoff wrote a song called 'How fair this spot,' and I think it's a perfect description of Winter Park. The surroundings are beautiful and the people are wonderful-and I've never played in any community that embraces music more warmly. My association with the Bach Festival has meant an awful lot to me over the years, and I'm absolutely thrilled to be coming down with the American Chamber Players to play on the Visiting Artists Series."Videos
