Brand new and hot off the press, Actors' Playhouse at the Miracle Theatre is proud to present the world premiere of MID-LIFE 2! (The Crisis Continues) from July 16 - August 17, 2014.
The follow up to the hilarious MID-LIFE! The Crisis Musical that performed to critical acclaim at Actors' Playhouse in the summer of 2008, MID-LIFE 2! takes audiences back to the middle ages once again with a hilariously tuneful look at the aches, pains, and joys of getting older. From ever-increasing trips to the doctor's office, to the horrifying moment when one qualifies for a senior discount, the ever-growing legion of aging Baby Boomers and beyond are sure to see their lives reflected in this witty musical revue lampooned with a Saturday Night Live non-sensibility.
Artistic Director David Arisco is elated to secure the original cast of Actors' Playhouse's 2008 production of MID-LIFE! The Crisis Musical to portray each hysterical scene of this much-anticipated sequel. Maribeth Graham, who received her first Carbonell nomination with Actors' Playhouse in Kendall with her performance in Angry Housewives, returns to the Miracle Theatre where her own original musical See Jane Run! made its world premiere in 2011. Last seen in 1776, Carbonell winner and Broadway actor Barry J. Tarallo returns to Actors' Playhouse, along with AP veteran Margot Moreland who has won multiple Carbonell awards with the company in shows like TomFoolery, Annie and Heartbeats. Carbonell nominee Wayne Steadman, another Actors' Playhouse favorite, was last seen here in Thumbs as the bumbling deputy Wilton Dekes. No stranger to the Actors' Playhouse stage is Carbonell winner Lourelene Snedeker who was last seen in Other Desert Cities which won the Miami New Times 2013 award for Best Play in Miami. Allan Baker, last seen onstage in Becky's New Car, rounds out the reunited cast of MID-LIFE 2!.Preview night tickets on the first Wednesday and Thursday are $35. Tickets for weeknights and matinees are $40, and on Friday and Saturday evenings $48. The theatre offers a 10 percent senior discount rate the day of performance and $15 student rush tickets 15 minutes prior to curtain with identification. Discounts are based on availability and exclude Saturday and Sunday.
