Ann Hampton Callaway
Back by Popular Demand
The Tony Award nominee Ann Hampton Callaway made her Royal Room debut in January 2002 and is returning for her sixth engagement at The Colony. One of the finest singer/songwriters of our time, the statuesque performer dazzles music lovers as a singer, pianist, composer, lyricist, arranger, and quick-witted actress. Her talents have made her equally at home in jazz and pop as well as on stage, in the recording studio, on TV and in film. She is best known for starring in the hit Broadway musical Swing! and for writing and singing the theme to the internationally successful TV series, The Nanny. A devoted keeper-of-the-flame of the Great American Songbook, her piano playing remains part of her performances as she concludes most concerts with her signature improvisation, playing and singing a hilarious and well-crafted song based on words and phrases called out from the audience. She has become a favorite in the jazz and pops concert circuit, appearing as special guest artist with Wynton Marsalis and the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra and with Keith Lockhart and the Boston Pops at Symphony Hall and Tanglewood. She has sung with more than 25 of the nation's top big bands and orchestras - including the popular Palm Beach Pops last year. Her performances in the Carnegie Hall tributes to Ella Fitzgerald, Peggy Lee and Harold Arlen were memorable and show stopping. Ms. Callaway's performances have been seen on numerous TV shows including The Today Show, CNN's Larry King Live, The Charlie Rose Show, Oprah!, The Rosie O'Donnell Show and ABC News. She made her feature film debut several years ago opposite Angelina Jolie and Matt Damon in The Good Shepherd.

February 22-26
Jack Jones
With a disarming smile, an effortlessly engaging wit and a vocal style that stands alone, Jack Jones returns to The Royal Room for the third time (he made his debut in early 2007). Jones certainly ranks alongside America's greatest singers. Frank Sinatra called him "one of the major singers of our time," and Mel Torme said he was "the greatest pure singer in the world." Jack Jones twice won Grammy Awards for Best Pop Male Vocal Performances with his hit singles Lollipops and Roses and Wives and Lovers. He has recorded more than 50 albums - 17 of them made Billboard's Top 20 List - and has consistently sold-out concerts around the world, including at Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center.
Reviews of Jack Jones:
+ The New York Times: "Note for note, phrase by phrase, he is arguably the most technically accomplished male pop singer of a vanishing ilk... He is the Lion King of lounge singers (who) has reason to strut."
+ Variety: "A hint of gritty reediness has crept into the superb instrument that is Jack Jones' voice; but that doesn't hinder his soaring musicality and control... The singer's unerring musicianship was evident throughout the evening but it was his jazz instinct that proved a revelation."
+ Birmingham Post: Jack Jones "is the epitome of style and is so cool (that it is) surprising you can't see his breath condensing."
+ Keely Smith: "He's probably the best damn singer in this business."
+ Bernadette Peters: "He's amazing. I love him. I can't get over his voice. His voice has always been a thrill and it still is. I'm a huge fan."
+ Steve Lawrence: "His vocal prowess is extraordinary. His pitch is great, his meter and interpretation is good. His voice box is incredible. His range is terrific."
Cost to Attend Jack Jones:
+ Tuesday through Thursday - $115 for dinner & show; $70 for show only
+ Friday and Saturday - $135 for dinner & show; $90 for show only
