TICKETS ON SALE NOW FOR GOSPEL HIP-HOP SHOWCASE & SUMMIT AT THE MIRAMAR CULTURAL CENTER ON MAY 22 & 23  

The City of Miramar presents the 1st Annual Gospel Hip-Hop Cultural Showcase & Summit on Friday, May 22nd and Saturday, May 23rd at the Miramar Cultural Center/ArtsPark.  

In partnership with Dunamis Power Productions, this two-day event promises to stimulate, educate and uplift with aspiring and independent Hip-Hop/Gospel artists, featuring national artists "The Ambassador" and "Dooney Da Priest" along with two-time Stellar Award winner "Da' T.R.U.T.H." Proceeds benefit Multiple Sclerosis. 

On May 22, from 7 - 9:30 p.m., there will be a talent show where contestants compete for a cash prize of $500, a limousine ride and free entry to Saturday's Concert, a Red Carpet interview during the pre-show and the opportunity to perform on stage with national artists.

On Saturday, May 23 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., there will be workshops and breakout sessions where participants will learn about artist development, protecting your art through copyright, marketing strategies and other discussions. A box lunch will be provided. 

Saturday evening's performance begins with the Red Carpet Preshow "Dress to Impress but Cover the Rest" from 7 - 8 p.m. with Deejay Inger Reid from WEDT 99 Jamz Sunday Morning Gospel. The concert is immediately following from 8 - 10:30 p.m. and features  Da' T.R.U.T.H.; Grammy Nominee Ambassador Dooney Da Priest to perform his hit "Pull Up Your Pants," and Grammy Nominee & Gospel Legend Multiple Sclerosis Spokesperson and Mistress of Ceremonies Vanessa Bell Armstrong.  

"By bringing this show to our city, we hope to provide an incentive for youth and young adults to create and perform original positive or inspirational music," said Edna La Roche, marketing manager of the Miramar Cultural Center/ArtsPark. 

Pricing is as follows:

  • The entire Weekend Package is $30. This includes the Talent Contest and Show, Educational Summit including Lunch, Red Carpet Preshow and Concert. Groups of 20 or more are $25 per person.
  • The Friday Night Talent Contest and Show is only $5
  • The Saturday Educational Workshops are only - $20
  • The Saturday Night Preshow & Concert is only $15

The Miramar Cultural Center ArtsPark, in partnership with the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, is a collaborative effort of many who share a fundamental commitment to the arts as essential to building a strong and vibrant community.
