In the fifties, the streets of New York are governed by two gangs of different breeds: the American Jets and the Puerto Rican Sharks.

In the midst of this reality, a couple of young people belonging to these bands opponents, are known and instantly fall in love during a dance, an event that generated the unfortunate consequences that give rise to this story.
