With each year that passes, collaborations between talented artists continue to grow; Derek Hough (Emmy Award Winning choreographer, Dancing with the Stars), Sammy Hagar (Grammy Award Winner & Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Legend), Josie Walsh (Artistic Director of BalletRED and Joffrey Ballet School Los Angeles & San Francisco), Misty Copeland (principal with American Ballet Theatre), Ekaterina Kondaurova (principal with Mariinsky Ballet), Daniel Ulbricht (principal with New York City Ballet), Yulia Zagoruychenko & Riccardo Cocchi (Six-Time World Latin Ballroom Champions) and Youth America Grand Prix finalists, just to name a few. Gala de Danza believes in collaborations and diversity within all forms of the performing arts, giving way for the future development of a music and dance festival.

This year marks Gala de Danza's 5-Year Anniversary and one of our most spectacular programs to date. On March 4th, 2017, Gala de Danza will present extraordinary artistry in a beautiful place at Mar Adentro Hotel on a custom built stage just for the occasion. A Grupo Encanto luxury hotel, nominated for Mexico & Central America's Leading New Hotel 2016, Mar Adentro is the only one of its kind. Designed by the vision and creativity of renowned Mexican architect Miguel Ángel Aragonés, Mar Adentro will host Gala de Danza guest artists on a stage that joins the horizon of the hotel's stunning mirror pools and the Sea of Cortez. Guests will be able to witness the show from the comfort of their hotel suites and VIP water lounges over the pools. Certainly one of the most innovative experiences for any performance venue around the world brought to life by two visionaries Founder and Artistic Director of Gala de Danza, Christina Lyon and Architect Miguel Ángel Aragonés of Mar Adentro.

2 New commissions will receive world premieres in Mexico. With artists including Placido Domingo's protégé and gifted tenor David Lomeli, 6 of the most talented youth and finalists from Youth America Grand Prix in a piece choreographed by Kasia Kozielska, Mariinsky Ballet's famed principal dancer Ekaterina Kondaurova, the famous street dancer Lil Buck, the return of Beckanne Sisk (principal dancer with Ballet West) and Fabrice Calmels (principal with Joffrey Ballet), Mariana Carrillo (former Danza Téllez student) and other surprise guests and dancers from around the world.
