In this musical based on the 1950 film, an aging silent film star longs to return to the big screen having faded from notoriety with the invention of “talkies”. When she meets a struggling Hollywood screenwriter, the two begin to work on a script to revive her career. The passionate and tumultuous relationship that ensues leads to an unforeseen conclusion. Winner of the 1995 Tony Award for Best Musical.
