Theatre Memphis Is bringing back the Overstock Yard Sale on the TM campus at 630 Perkins Extended today, October 24, 2015, from 7am - 1pm. Items for sale represent years of stage performances and will focus on clothing including vintage costumes, shoes, hats, masks, puppets and other unique items such as capes, gowns and specialty children's items. TM volunteers have also donated items which includes some toys, books and household items. The sale merchandise is being offered to make room in the theater's stock and storage rooms after over 40 years of archival in the Theatre Memphis facility that opened in 1975.

"Every three or four decades I think everyone should purge their holdings," Amie Eoff, Costume Designer / Shop Supervisor at Theatre Memphis, wryly said. "Seriously, there are so many lovely things that we just will never use again and the space has just run out. We thought we could offer these overstock items to the public and actually raise a little money that will help us organize our next 95 years. All items will be priced to SELL!" All items not sold will be donated to charity.

The sale is scheduled rain or shine and will be held indoors in the theater lobby with plenty of on-site parking. Earlybird shoppers will be welcome at 7am but will be charged $5 to have first access to all the merchandise. Doors will be open to the public at 8am. Large kitchen trash bags will be made available from Noon - 1pm and as much as can be stuffed into a bag will be sold for only $5 per bag. Debbie Litch, Executive Director at Theatre Memphis clearly stated her delight at the opportunity to have an event like this. "What a great idea," she said. "We will be able to really make room for more beautiful costumes and stage paraphernalia while we make money for the theater. Now that is really 'cleaning up!' "

Theatre Memphis is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization located at 630 Perkins Extended (corner of Perkins and Southern) and is a community theatre whose mission is to provide outstanding theatrical experiences to enrich the lives of our audiences, participants and community.
