A very rare collection of single cask single malt Scotch whisky will be available for tasting on November 13, 2014, to benefit the artistic programming at Theatre Memphis. Sponsored by The Scotch Malt Whisky Society of America, Seldon Murray, a member of the Memphis Scottish Society, Incorporated, will lead the tasting and discussion of some very rare offerings in the United States ... some scarce and some never to be replaced samplings, all imported from Edinburgh, Scotland. Scotches to be tasted will be in the 10 to 22 age range.

The event begins at 6:30pm and will be held on the Lohrey Stage at Theatre Memphis, 630 Perkins Extended at Southern Ave . The entire evening will be filled with music, song and tradition that will enhance the tasting experience. The evening starts with a seated dinner prepared by Chef Erling Jensen where attendees will be entertained by Celtic Harp. A trumpet fanfare will follow as the presentation of Scotch proceeds with a verger, bagpipes and Templar Knights. Each Scotch will be introduced and a have a guided discussion of types and tips prior to the tasting to be followed by a bagpipers' salute.

Cost for the entire evening of food, drink and ceremony is $200 per person with $100 per ticket being tax-deductible. Limited seating is available. Call 901.682.8323 to reserve your seats or for more information or go to http://theatrememphis.org/scotch-tasting-2014.
