Tonight, June 12th at 7:00 PM, the Orpheum will celebrate summer brides with a wedding double feature including the 1991 version of FATHER OF THE BRIDE followed by the hit comedy BRIDESMAIDS. Brides and wedding enthusiasts are encouraged to come early and see the biggest trends in bridal couture from Maggie Louise Bridal, who is sponsoring the double feature.
"We are thrilled to partner with the Orpheum to honor our Mid-South brides with two fantastic wedding comedies," says Molly Farrell, owner and operator of Maggie Louise Bridal. "Our mission is to help brides find the perfect gown for their perfect day, and this is a great opportunity for brides to jumpstart their search for THE dress."
Patrons will also be able to meet and mingle with bridal consultants and enjoy nuptial-inspired cocktails, making this the ideal themed evening for wedding parties, announcement celebrations, and bachelorette outings.
FATHER OF THE BRIDE: In this charming update of the much-loved Hollywood classic, Steve Martin turns in a winning performance as George Banks, the befuddled father who has a hard time letting go of his daughter when she unexpectedly announces her plans to wed. But when Annie finds herself competing with a fellow bridesmaid for the bride's friendship, the resulting head-to-head combat threatens to destroy the wedding. Starring Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, Rose Byrne, Melissa McCarthy, Chris O'Dowd and Jon Hamm, this film is rated R.
