Tennessee Shakespeare invites patrons to join them tomorrow night, November 3, at The Memphis Hunt & Polo Club as we continue our celebratory 400 Shakespeare series with perhaps his most shocking and modern play, Coriolanus.

Rome has only recently become a republic, and now its fiercest soldier ("a thing of blood"), raised by the state and his mother to be a war machine, is forced into the political arena to solicit votes from those he resents for running from war and crying for food: the people. When Coriolanus is then banished from his home for arguing against the new political system, you might think his following act surprising enough. But you won't believe what happens next.
Before the reading, enjoy a lavish dinner buffet of "New World Fare" and the cash bar at 6:00 pm. The abbreviated reading begins in the ballroom at 7:00 pm.
