THE BRIDGES OF MADISON COUNTY Set for Spring at The Circuit Playhouse

The Bridges of Madison County, with music & lyrics by Jason Robert Brown and book by Marsha Norman, based on the novel by Robert James Waller, will run at The Circuit Playhouse, March 17 - April 9, 2017.

Based on the best-selling novel, The Bridges of Madison County captures the expanse of the American heartland along with the yearning entangled with one of life's most painful questions, "What if...?" Francesca Johnson, a beautiful Italian woman who married an American soldier to flee war-torn Italy, looks forward to a few days alone on her Iowa farm when her family heads to the 1965 state fair. When a ruggedly handsome National Geographic photographer pulls into her driveway seeking directions, the course of Francesca's life changes forever.

Playhouse on the Square Resident Company Member Carla McDonald (Carrie the Musical; Gypsy) is Francesca. Opposite Carla is Guest Artist Christopher Swan as Robert. Audiences might remember Christopher from performances of his one-man show Fully Committed. The pair are joined by Associate Company Members Ian Lah (Mamma Mia!; Rock of Ages) and Allison Fortin (Sisters of Swing; Rock of Ages). The Bridges of Madison County is directed by Playhouse on the Square Resident Company Member Dave Landis (King Charles III; Sister Act).
