Spring classes that begin in January 2012 with Theatre Memphis' Department of Outreach and Education / ShoWagon, have been announced and all are available for enrollment immediately.
Classes for adults and children are available with KidsWagon meeting as an eight week workshop that focuses on children K – 6. Adult classes offer instruction for the serious actor and will include Shakespeare and Scene Study options.
KidsWagon
The Big, Bad Wolf Tells All, instructor Heather Hooten
Jan. 7-Feb. 18, 1 pm to 4 pm Price: $160
Young actors participate in areas of putting together a production: acting, costume and lighting design. Our second KidsWagon production of the season tells the story of BB, the friendliest wolf you could ever meet, as he goes about trying to live and to make a living in this mixed up story of crisscrossed rhymes.

Adult Classes
Acting Shakespeare, instructor Meghan Lisi
Jan. 10-Feb. 28, 5:45 pm to 6:45 pm Price: $120
Study history, analysis of verse, rules of meter and text work – the fundamentals. New skills will be put to use in solo pieces and scene work. Hone your skill in classical acting, monologues and mock audition scenarios. This will prepare you for any classical work. Ages 16+
Acting I: Scene Study, instructor Josie Helming
Jan. 14-Mar. 3, 10 am to Noon Price: $150
This 8-week class will focus on the preparation of scenes and monologues. Participants will learn basics of script analysis and fundamental stage skills.

ShoWagon, The Department of Outreach and Education at Theatre Memphis, seeks to educate and empower typically overlooked audiences by exploring oral and written language through a musical and visually expressive theatrical vocabulary. ShoWagon is a children's theatre company made up of professional actors. These actors are dedicated to bringing classic works of literature to life while providing a knowledge and experience base from which educators may draw. It is the goal of ShoWagon's members to deepen and broaden each student's understanding of literary and dramatic works of art and to inspire confidence in their own abilities to articulate their perspectives of the world.
