ShoWagon, the Outreach and Education Department at Theatre Memphis, will perform ANANSI DOES THE IMPOSSIBLE on the Lohrey Stage at Theatre Memphis on Monday, October 18, 2010 at 6pm. The 45 minute show is part of the ShoWagon tour series that allows the professional children's theatre troupe to perform in schools and to the general public. ShoWagon can be scheduled during the school year but this performance is being done at Theatre Memphis to give teachers of grades K-6 the opportunity to see the material and get information on how to book ShoWagon for a performance. It is also an opportunity for children who may not have the chance to experience ShoWagon through their school to participate in and view a live theatre performance. This performance is free to the public, but reservations are recommended due to limited space availability. Adults attending will get a 10% discount coupon, upon request, to use toward booking a ShoWagon performance. Parents and grandparents are encouraged to bring children ages 3-11. To secure a space, call 901.682.5261.
Other shows available in the 2010-11 year are adaptations of Mark Twain's Tom Sawyer, William Shakespeare's THE TEMPEST and ALICE'S ADVENTURES (based on Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass).
Theatre Memphis is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization located at 630 Perkins Extended (corner of Perkins and Southern) and is a community theatre whose mission is to provide outstanding theatrical experiences to enrich the lives of our audiences and participants.
