The Orpheum Theatre and Kroger present Michael Jordan, Bugs Bunny and more in the popular 1996 sports film SPACE JAM on Friday, June 12th at 1:30 PM. Fans are encouraged to don their best Grizz Gear and arrive early for special appearances by fan favorites Grizz and the Grizz Girls of Memphis' beloved NBA franchise, the Memphis Grizzlies.

"We are very excited to be a part of the Orpheum's Summer Movie Series, especially for a screening of the iconic NBA fan-favorite, SPACE JAM," said Grizzlies Vice President of Marketing, Communications and Broadcast John Pugliese. "Both the Orpheum and the Grizzlies bring exciting entertainment to Memphis and the downtown area, and we're grateful for the chance to bring Grizz Nation together during the offseason with opportunities like the Summer Movie Series."

The slam dunk hit SPACE JAM takes basketball to new heights. Swackhammer, the owner of amusement park planet Moron Mountain, is desperate procure new attractions. When he decides that the Earth's Looney Tune characters would be the perfect addition, he sends his diminutive underlings, the Nerdlucks, to get them whether Bugs Bunny & Co. want to go or not. Well-armed for their size, Bugs tricks them into agreeing to a competition that will determine their fate. Taking advantage of their puny and stubby legged foes, the gang selects basketball for the surest chance of winning. The Nerdlucks turn the tables and steal the talents of leading professional basketball stars to become massive bruisers known as the Monstars. In desperation, Bugs Bunny calls on the aid of Micheal Jordan, the Babe Ruth of Basketball, to help them have a chance at winning their freedom. SPACE JAM is rated PG.

Doors open at 12:30pm. Come early to hang out with Grizz and the Grizz Girls, take photos at the Orpheum's signature "selfie station," and enjoy a pre-show concert on the Orpheum's Mighty Wurlitzer Organ. Movie-themed coloring activities will be available for children and families courtesy of the Orpheum's Education Department. Costumes encouraged.

SPACE JAM is sponsored by Kroger. The Orpheum Theatre's 2015 Summer Movie Series is presented for a fourth year by Orion Federal Credit Union. The series runs through September 4th and includes classics, comedies, and fan favorites.
