On Saturday, March 12th, the Orpheum Theatre announced its highly-anticipated 2016-2017 Broadway Season. The year's subscription series includes DIRTY DANCING - The Classic Story On Stage, ANNIE, THE BODYGUARD, BEAUTIFUL - The Carole King Musical, and THE SOUND OF MUSIC. Season options include a return engagement of JERSEY BOYS, and a special weekend-only engagement of the RENT 20th Anniversary Tour. The 2016-2017 Broadway Season is generously sponsored by Bank of America and Memphis Area Honda Dealers.

Orpheum President & CEO Brett Batterson says, "This year's lineup includes everything from record-breaking musicals never-before seen in Memphis to titles you can't live without, from tunes you sing in the car to stories that have captivated generations. The 2016-17 Season offers everything we love about Broadway musicals."

Season tickets offer 20% savings on a full 5-show package compared to individual ticket prices. JERSEY BOYS and RENT are both available as add-ons to season ticket packages. In addition to receiving the best seats at the best prices, season tickets include many subscriber benefits such as ticket exchange and resale opportunities, a Subscriber Perks Card, which provides patrons with discounts to the Orpheum's VIP Partner businesses, optional pre-paid discounted parking, and exclusive pre-sale opportunities for special engagements presented by the Orpheum.

Current Season Ticket Holders will receive renewal information in the mail this week, and season tickets for new subscribers are expected to go on sale to the public in early May. THE SOUND OF MUSIC

April 18 - 23, 2017

The hills are alive! A brand new production of THE SOUND OF MUSIC, directed by three-time Tony Award winner Jack O'Brien, is coming to the Orpheum Theatre. The beloved musical story of Maria and the von Trapp Family will once again thrill audiences with its Tony, Grammy and Academy Award-winning Best Score, including "My Favorite Things," "Edelweiss" and the title song. The Sound of Music enjoyed extraordinary success as a live television production when "The Sound of Music Live!" aired on NBC in December, 2013 and was seen by over 44 million people. 2015 marked the 50th Anniversary of the film version, which continues to be the most successful movie musical in history.

RENT - 20th Anniversary Tour (Season Option)
