Playhouse on the Square announces the Four Seasons Cocktail Series - a set of free happy-hour events to coincide with the changing of the seasons. On each equinox and solstice, the theatre will host a cocktail party in honor of a different non-profit organization. Guests are invited to learn about the organization being honored while enjoying light hors d'oeuvres and a signature cocktail created just for the event. The parties are from 5:30pm - 6:30pm and will be held in a different location inside Playhouse on the Square on each date. Donations are accepted during the party and will benefit the non-profit being honored.
The first party in the series will honor Project Green Fork (projectgreenfork.org) on Wednesday, March 20th. Project Green Fork focuses on improving the sustainability of local restaurants and its office is housed inside Playhouse on the Square. When Project Green Fork's Executive Director Margot McNeeley was approached by Jackie Nichols with the idea, she was enthusiastic about being involved. "I think it's a great way to learn about local non-profits, support local non-profits and meet new people. We're honored to be the first organization to kick off the party series," said McNeeley.
Playhouse's goal for the Four Seasons Series is to present a low-key open house and connect with people beyond the usual interactions. "We wanted to invite people who may not have been to our building to come by for something other than our shows," said Jackie Nichols. "We're glad to be able to spotlight other non-profit groups and have them benefit from the exposure."
Playhouse on the Square will offer guided tours of its facility, which will include areas that the public cannot normally access.
