Playhouse on the Square brings the 2013 Tony Award-winning musical to the Bluff City in celebration of the theatre's 51st season.

Based on the 2005 British film of the same name and scored by Cyndi Lauper, this exhilarating musical follows Charlie who has inherited a shoe factory from his father. It sounds like a great deal, except the factory is failing and on the way to being shut down. Enter Lola, a cabaret performer and drag queen, who sees what Charlie can't - and it's all in the heel.

The Playhouse on the Square Associate Company inaugurate their year's residency with this production of Kinky Boots; including: Isaiah Rosales as Charlie, Hayley Wilson as Pat, and Jayland Potts as one of Lola's Angels. Associate Company Members Kelly McCarty (Tuck Everlasting, Little Women: The Broadway Musical) and Donald Sutton (Cabaret, The Legend of Georgia McBride) return to Memphis for a second year portraying the roles of Lauren and Harry, respectively.

Resident Company Member, Courtney Oliver (The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, 1984) plays the role of Trish. While Resident Company Member, Daniel Stuart Nelson (Cabaret, The Legend of Georgia McBride) once again does double duty as Lola's Angel. He is also the show's choreographer. Memphis theatre favorite, Kent Fleshman (Tuck Everlasting, Bridges of Madison County) takes on the role of Mr. Price. Making his return to the Playhouse on the Square main stage, as Lola, is Justin Allen Tate (The Legend of Georgia McBride).

Kinky Boots will kick off Circuit Playhouse, Inc (CPI) 50th year presenting professional live theatre to Memphis and the Mid-South. In recognition to this milestone, CPI will present a total of 20 productions for the 2019-2020 season. 18 productions will be performed between Playhouse on the Square, The Circuit Playhouse, and TheatreWorks at the Square stages, with two educational theatre tours.
